Gritty McDuff's, Maine's Original Brew Pub specializes in hand-crafted English style ales and traditional and creative pub fare, in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Both Gritty's fine ales and the pubs have won countless "best of" awards through our twenty-five years of operation. Our standard brews are session beers, Gritty's Pub-Style Pale Ale, McDuff's Best Bitter, Black Fly Stout, allowing one to have multiple beers within a reasonable time period without overwhelming the senses. Our seasonal and varietal ale offerings are more adventurous, some with a higher ABV, and some with higher IBU. We brew a beer for all craft brew palates. For the diner, we offer traditional pub fare alongside not so traditional specialty items. Our pub-style long tables with benches easily accommodate parties of all sizes and add to the camaraderie.

Flavors were vivid, nicely paired, and bold, an excellent lunch spot to show off S Portland to your closest friends.

Only stopped in for drinks and to take a load off our feet from a full day of walking.... but the beers were great. Nice selection of IPA and other beers, I’m a wheat person and those aren’t the easiest to find. So I settled in with a brown ale that did not disappoint. They had some great IPA’s for my husband, and even a decent wine list for my mother in law. All in all, great experience and nice location. Atmosphere was very fun and silly. I enjoyed it a lot! Would recommend for drinks to anyone!

stopped here in between 2 tours we had that day in Portland. Food was amazing. Lobster poutine was on point, lobster rolls were awesome but who ever thought of the shepherd's pie egg roll appetizer is a mad genius!!
